Nature Prints Cardboard Printing

Materials • Paperfordrawing• Cardboardfromabrowncardboardbox• Cardforprintingonto-recycledfromcereal,pizzaortissueboxesisperfect!

• Posterpaintorwatereddownacrylicpaintorsimilar• Scissors• Pencil• Paintbrush-nottoofine• Bluemulti-purposetacksuitableforwallsorsimilar• Optional:CraftKnifetocutoutcardboardandagrownuptohelp

1. Draw a variety of very simple leaf and flower shapes on to paper, then cut them out.

Tip:Doarangeofsizes,theleavesinthepicturerangefrom20cmforthebiggestto5cmforthesmallest.

2. Place the paper leaves onto the cardboard and trace round them. Cut these shapes out.

Tip:Itcanbeeasiertocuttheshapesoutwithacraftknifebutgetagrownuptohelpanduseacuttingmatorsimilartocutonto.

3. Paint the cardboard shapes QUICKLY with lots of poster paint or watered-down acrylic paint. Turn cardboard over and print straightaway onto recycled card or thick paper. Try to print a few of each leaf or flower.

Tip:Workfast-don’tletthepaintdrybeforeprinting!Iftheprintsareabitsplodgy,don’tworry,italladdstothelovelytexture!

5. Arrange the leaves and flowers on a wall or door using tiny bits of blue multi purpose tack or similar.

4. Leave to dry. Cut the leaves and flowers out.
