Two kinds of dumping:

1. Recyclable cardboard in garbage containers

2. Garbage in recycling containers

Talk to your collector. Your collector may:• Remove cardboard from trash and place in recycling container, if

available• Leave cardboard in the garbage and transport to landfill• Remove from garbage and leave on site

Recycle Right

• Contamination: presence of garbage in recycling

• Examples: Styrofoam, paper towels, plastic bags, broken glass

• Contamination can send recyclables to the landfill

Talk to your collector.• $5-15/month for once-a-week pick up

of 95 gal. cart

Be neighborly.• Consider joint recycling services

with neighbors
