NCR Cadet Color Guard Competition held on
5-6 June at Camp Ripley, MN completed with
the Offutt Composite Squadron team taking
overall 2nd place. The members include:
C/MSgt Ryan M. Tweedt, Commander, who alsoreceived 1st place in the written; A1C Lloyd A.
Pierre III; A1C Rachel E. Dunkleman and Amn
Adam D. Medbery. The team placed first inOutdoor Presentation, Written Exam, and tied
for first place in the AE Panel Quiz with Minne-
sota.

CADET ORIENTATION PILOTS:
The wing has money to spend on cadet orienta-
tion flights and take full advantage of it! Call
LTC Darrell Nelson today to schedule your ca-det O’Rides. None can be scheduled past 15
September, which sounds like a long ways off,
but really isn’t. The summer will be gone be-
fore we know it, so make that call today and get
your cadets in the air!!
The information for all cadet orientation
flights are entered into WIMRS only by LTC
Darrell Nelson. All your paperwork, and don’t
forget your fuel receipts, are to be sent to hisattention. Pilots should be entering their own
information into the WIMRS program for their
C-17 and B-12 flights.
AE CORNER: Summer is in full bloom and
with it comes many city events. Find an event
happening in your city and get your squadron
involved! Contact your local Chamber of Com-merce for a list of events that CAP can par-
ticipate in and get the word out there and jus
have some fun as a unit activity!
An ELT mission conducted on 28-29 June came
with succession of finding an expired ELT with a
farmer on his grass private airstrip northwest ofO'Neill, NE. About 8 hours of flight time were
logged by 359CP with Capt. Jason Linder, 1Lt. ALubken and 1Lt. Kevin Saathoff, all from Capital
City Senior Sq. and 833CP with Maj. Vern Platt,
Maj. Roger Wess and 1Lt. Forrest Futtere, from
the Pine Ridge Sq. Ground team members includeCapt. Eric Nielsen, Maj. Sharon Sanford, Capt. Al
Worley, Lt. Col. Sue Askew, C/CMSgt. Brett Lee,
C/SSgt. Hannah Clocker, all from the Northeast
Nebraska Comp. Sq., Maj. Les Olsen, 1Lt. KenMlinar and LT. Col. Rocky Richards, from the San-
dhills Comp. Sq. IC was Col. John Rooney and Lt.
Col. Barry Taylor. Congratulations to all on ac-
complishing this mission & earning a Find Ribbon

NARROWBAND TRANSITION:
The re-programming of all EF Johnson radios has begun in the wing and your cooperation is neede
to complete the process. Capt. Tom Schaeffer requested a reply by 22 June from unit commander
for a preferred date to re-program your equipment. There are several units that still need to
comply with this request and those unit commanders are requested to send an email to
tschaeffer@newg-cap.org with their point-of-contact person and phone number to confirm the dat
If a date cannot be confirmed, the unit will need to bring the radio’s to Camp Ashland. The EF
Johnson’s cannot be used after 30 Sept. on the new narrowband frequencies until re-programmed

Draft to CAPR 173-1, Finance, has incorporatedthe previous CAPR 173-1 and CAPF 173-2. If thisdraft becomes the new regulation, there will be afew changes that will need to be made. The mostimportant to announce is that all personal reimburse-ment requests must be submitted within 60 days ofincurring an expense or receiving an invoice. Re-quests for reimbursement presented after 60 dayswill not be honored. There may be more, but weshall see what will be necessary when the draft be-comes regulation.

THE DEADLINE APPROACHES
June 30 is the last day that squadrons can sign up for a free grant from the Aero-space Education Foundation established in 1956 by the Air Force association. Thisfree money can only be received once every other year and is limited to $250.00.The money must be used for aerospace education related items and a follow-up re-
