Hamilton Ironmen Football Club
The Hamilton Ironmen provides qualified volunteer coaches that teach the fundamentals of football in a safe and healthy environment to youths 12-19 years of age. The organization has three teams (Bantam, Junior Varsity and Varsity) that play in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) since 2002. The Ironmen offer a winter training camp, combined practices hosted by the McMaster Athletics Department, practices at Ron Joyce Stadium and eight games per season. The club strives to provide their players with the best quality football experience that prepares them for the next level. They instill good sportsmanship, commitment and teamwork in each player while also emphasizing the importance of education on and off the field.
This past year limited funds had significantly hindered their ability to reach more people and became a challenge when choosing which methods of communication to use. They really wanted help to expand their efforts with brochures to raise awareness of their organization and no longer rely on just word of mouth.

Binbrook United Church
Binbrook United Church is a congregation of the United Church of Canada. They are a charitable organization that seeks to serve and build community in their surrounding area. BUC serves not only as a religious sanctuary of its congregation but also serves as a community hub for non-profit groups as well as community service groups within the Binbrook area.
In the last two years BUC developed a partnership with Binbrook Agricultural Society and Hamilton area food trucks to create ‘Wheel Food Wednesdays’ located at the Binbrook Fair Grounds. Several food trucks participate weekly from May to September in a changing weekly rotation. BUC needed new marketing materials to advertise the event and increase the brand recognition. They were already using social media to spread the word but requested some printed materials to help their efforts.
Through FootPRINT Fund Allegra was able to provide a banner to hang on the fence just outside of the fair grounds to notify the public of the event from May to September as well as provide posters to hang in strategic community locations with more information on the event.
We asked one of the organizers how FootPRINT Fund helped them achieve their goals this year. This is what Karen had to say, “we had a great second season, the banner was a big asset as we were able to hang it on the fence at the fairgrounds for everyone to see as they drove by. The posters worked and each food truck put one in their window so when they were at events they helped us advertise. Our Facebook page has many likes, up by quite a few from the first year. We doubled our money made this year with some other changes made as well.”
