WHAT IS THE NEW CASTLE COUNTY POLICE EXPLORER PROGRAM?

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN?

The Police Explorers Program is designed for young men and women who have a “sincere interest” in careers in the field of law enforcement. The Program offers experiential learning with lots of fun-filled activities that promote the growth and development of adolescent youth. Young men and women who join will learn a variety of police procedures, including fingerprinting, evidence collection, patrol procedures, and will participate in a host of community events. The program meets one Saturday and one Wednesday evening of every month.

Youth between 14 years old (who have completed the 8th grade) through 20 years old with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and have no criminal convictions. Applicants will be required to complete an essay and interview.

WHERE AND WHEN IS THE OPEN HOUSE?

Saturday, January 19th, 2013 at 1:00pm at the New Castle County Police Department, 3601 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720. The meeting will take place in the Sweeney Conference Room. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early. Youth under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
