INSTALLATION
Our new pastor, Jo Anne Dyson will be installed on March 24 at 4 PM. Installation is a worship service overseen by Presbytery where the relationship between church and minister is finalized. Three ruling elders from 3 different churches in the Presbytery and 3 teaching elders (ministers) from 3 different churches in the Presbytery have designated parts in the service. Some of the people who have been invited to participate in the service are well known to this congregation: Chris Lieberman, Marianne Niesen, David McChesney, Deborah Pangrass and Alan Cummings. A reception will follow the service. Please come and join this time of celebration.
Art-4-All will meet on March 17th, 2:00-5:00pm! We hope you can join us for more creativity.
We loss a very special Fort King Presbyterian Church member and friend Mrs. Sue Harshman on February 11th, 2019. Please keep Sue’s sons Dana and Joe and family in your prayers during this difficult time.

MISSION MINISTRY
MISSION OPPORTUNITIES
Interfaith Meals: Thank you, Fort King. All spots for 2019 are filled on our meal calendar! For February, the following participated: Nell Clegorne, Nancy and Dick Haydon, Madge Noe, Danny Winters, Phyllis Altonn and Pastor Jo Anne. Let’s concentrate now on what we can bring to help the “residents” of Interfaith and also Domestic Violence center: non-
perishable foods, toiletries, cleaning supplies and diapers. Domestic Violence has in-creased their bedding capacity, so in turn, more food is needed to help fill their pantry! Bas-kets in the Narthex are marked appropriately and goods are picked up or delivered on a continuing basis.
Habitat for Humanity: April 13th – Construction Site Work Day.
Please sign up in the Narthex if you can participate. Come help build a house and enjoy working with your church friends at the same time.
Mission Day of Service: March 30. Please sign up in the Narthex to help with yardwork for our members who need assistance or to do visitations. The work guidelines are 8:30 – noon or whatever time you would like to schedule a visit. We will provide a list of sugges-tions for you.
Blood Drive – April 7th, 9 – noon on our campus. Sign-up sheet will be in the Narthex
March 31st (See Bill Reed).
Food4Kids: We are the “Pudding Church”. Please continue to bring chocolate and vanilla pudding cups to go in the F4K backpacks for Interfaith to distribute. Nell Clegorne can shop for case size quantities in the amount of $8.00, if you would like her help.
Box Tops for Education: Look for the jar in the Narthex to collect these items for Ward-
Highlands Elementary School. To find a list of the products that support this fundraiser, see http://www.boxtops4education.com.
Hearts and Hands Across the Sea donations are collected and Fair Trade Items are sold on the fourth Sunday of each month, so look for the can in the front of the sanctuary and the items for sale in the Narthex.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN ANY OF THESE AREAS. WE LOVE YOU FORT KING!

SPIRITUALITY ON THE RUN
How do we nurture our spiritual lives during the week when me is so pressed with our volun-
teer work, jobs, caregiving, and our honey-do lists? The focus of Lenten luncheons will be differ-
ent spiritual disciplines that can be done in 15 minutes or less. Soup, bread and beverage will
offered Wednesdays at 12 followed by an explanaon of the spiritual discipline and a chance to
pracce one or two. Most weeks will offer an idea or pracce to do with children so you can
pracce spirituality with your kid or grandchild. Topics include: fasng, prayer, meditave walking
(with feet or fingers), Bible reading, creave expression. The event and food are free but you are
encouraged to bring a food item for one of our church ministries (pudding, canned soup, canned
vegetables, canned fruit, etc.)

FLOWER CALENDAR
Church Flowers 2019
If you are considering providing flowers (or a plant) someme for a worship service, but would like to know more about the process, I
hope the following informaon will be helpful to you:
The flowers or plant do not need to be purchased from or delivered by a florist. They do not need to be costly; the source and cost are
completely your choice.
If you bring them from your yard or buy them from Walmart, Aldi, Publix, etc., they just need to be in a vase, basket, pot, or container
of your choice ready to display. There are loaner vases available to use.
There is no minimum or maximum size requirement for the flower arrangement.
The flowers are yours to take aNer the Sunday service.
I will be glad to answer any quesons you might have, help with wording for the worship bullen, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: Please sign up on the Church Bullen Board OR call Judith Bullen at 352–351-0870. Thank you.

YOUTH AND KIDS (YAK) MINISTRY
YOUTH UPDATES
Youth in 6th
-12th
grades are invited to parcipate in several new acvies. For those who are
interested in joining the church, there is a confirmaon class that starts March 3rd
aNer worship.
The confirmaon class will be meeng first Sundays March – May and then again in September –
December with the goal of joining the church during Advent.
Another aspect of the youth group is a second monthly meeng that will focus on fun and
fellowship. In February, the youth did Frisbee Golf. For March and April, the acvies will be
Escape Room and a day of swimming and pier fishing at the beach. The expected dates are
Saturday March 30 and Saturday April 27. If Beach game is rained out, the group will look at going
Bowling and reset the date.
Those who are 8th
grade through 12th
grade are eligible to go to Montreat this summer. Montreat
is a HUGE Presbyterian conference of 1000 plus kids from all over the country who come for an
incredible event of worship, small groups, energizers, musical group/performer and keynote
speakers. It will be July 21-27 (week 5). We will be going with 1st
Ocala and sharing an awesome 5
bedroom house in Black Mountain. There will be several meengs of preparaon with 1st
Ocala.
We will also be having some of our own meengs with a focus on finding spiritual pracces in
different religions as well as our own.
Some of these events are pricey. Here is the good news: parcipaon in youth events, regular
a"endance at worship and working in special projects of the church (work days, ushering, working
sound system, helping commi"ees, etc) will earn youth scholarship to conferences. It is not paral
scholarship but full scholarship. It does mean signing a contract (see Steve or Sally Layendecker for
more details and the contract). Youth who do not opt to do the contract are welcome to a"end on
a come and go basis for events but need to be prepared to foot the bill for the expense of those
events. Friends are welcome for events but please let advisors Steve, Sally and Jo Anne know so
there is adequate food and transportaon. Steve and Sally are contacts for the Confirmaon piece.
Jo Anne for the Montreat and special oungs. Many thanks to parents for providing transportaon
and support on some of the oungs.
If you have a kid or grandkid (or niece or nephew or cousin second removed) who might like to
parcipate, please encourage them to come. If you would like to support the youth, we can always
use snacks, meals (especially for confirmaon events) or money.
