Year 6 undertook their Statutory
Assessment Tests this month. It
was an extremely demanding week
and every single one of our chil-
dren coped extremely well. Mr
Abrahall was so proud of their
hard work and effort that he ar-
ranged for the ice cream van to
come into school and bought eve-
ryone in Year 6 an ice cream of
their choice. It looks like
Mr Abrahall had a long wait to
enjoy his double scoop, two fla-
voured ice cream with a flake!

Minister. We were all very excited
to receive a letter from 10 Down-
ing Street thanking the children for
their work; the Prime Minister
himself was impressed with the
children’s fantastic knowledge!
Well done Year 4.
Letters to the Prime Minister
Year 4 have recently been looking
at writing a balanced argument in
Literacy. To put these skills to
good use we decided as a year
group to write a balanced argu-
ment about the upcoming EU ref-
erendum. We were so impressed
with the children’s work we decid-
Anglo Saxon/Roman Day
Wellgate Farm
Wellgate Community Farm visited
bringing a selection of interesting
farm animals with them for the.
Reception classes to enjoy. The
children were able to pet the ani-
mals and enjoyed hearing the nois-
es and the bad smells they made!
The animals were organised in
pens and the farmers explained
interesting facts such as their
eating habits. The cow loved the
grass on our school field! The
weather was so lovely that the
Reception children took a picnic
out onto the school field which
they ate whilst looking at the ani-
mals grazing.
On Thursday 26th May Year 4 took
part in an Anglo Saxon and Ro-
man Day. The children all looked
fantastic in their costumes and
well done again to our winners-
Iris and Louis. During the day the
children took part in a range of
activities such as Roman dancing,
an army boot camp, archaeology
tasks and writing raps about the
fall of the Roman Empire. It was
lovely to see the children celebrate
their fantastic History knowledge
in a fun and exciting way.
Fudge

scaring Mr Young with their terri-

dessert after every dinner!
