Our school takes part in different projects: sportive trips, exchanges, contests…

NORDIC WALKING

INTRODUCTION: Nordic Walking started in Finland in the early

20th century as a summer training exercise for cross country skiers.

EQUIPMENT:

To practice nordic walking we need:

Nordic walking poles Special gloves Trainers Other accessories, like pedometer, sport glasses,

hats…

Benefits Nordic Walking is suitable for all age groups and

abilities. It’s a social sport, and you feel more relaxed after you

do it.

It is good for heart rate, respiration and body problems (backache, obesity…).

It uses a large number of muscle groups, especially if compared to normal walking.

In Spain and Catalonia there are a lot of routes to practice Nordic Walking.

You can go to Lloret de Mar, Mallorca, el Vendrell, Calafell…

WHERE CAN WE PRACTICE?

SPAIN:

We are from Spain, a country in south of Europe.

There’re 3 types of climatic areas: - The Mediterranean. - The semiarid. - The oceanic.

ROUTES IN SPAIN: The most important route

is El Camino de Santiago, a route to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia,

CATALONIA:

Catalonia one of 17 autonomous comunities of Spain.

CULTURE: We have special costums and a lot of

monuments.

ROUTES IN CATALONIA:Route: “Traspirenaica”This route crosses the Pyrinees.

MONTSERRAT COSTA BRAVA
