The network of green spaces (as well as features such
as street trees and green roofs) that is planned,
designed and managed to deliver a range of benefits,
including:
- healthy living
- mitigating flooding
- improving air and water quality
- cooling the urban environment
- encouraging walking and cycling
- enhancing biodiversity and ecological resilience.
