It's time for Spring cleanup time at Herland. On April 26, we'll be planting flowers and working in the yard as well as doing some general fix-up and cleaning in and around the building. Come join the fun starting with a potluck lunch at noon or drop by any time during the afternoon.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Jean's Plumbing for donating much needed plumbing services at Herland. Remember, support those who support our community.

SPRING RETREAT FEATURES THERAPY SISTERS
The Therapy Sisters of Austin, Texas will be the featured performers for the Herland Spring Retreat scheduled for May 1-3 at Red Rock Canyon State Park.
For the past decade The Therapy Sisters have set out to demonstrate that music and laughter are the best medicine. This zany and eclectic duo, Lisa Rogers and Maori ne McLean, has entertained at clubs, theaters, and conferences from coastto coast, and is a favorite on the nationally-syndicated Dr. Demento show.
This year they released their fifth album, Heyond Prescription, featuringjazz, blues, funk, and folk tunes, some of which are base_d on outrageous news stories. The Therapy Sisters aim to inspire you to laugh and think about the age "' e live in, and to remember that if you're not part of the problem, you're not part of the family. [J

RETREAT Music, women, potluck supper, campfires, women, work
shops, late-night card games, women, hiking, bike-riding, women, kitchen-duty, pickup games of volleyball and softball, women ..... these are just some of the things that make a Herland retreat a special event.
Workshops currently scheduled for the spring retreat include a guitar workshop by Lisa Rogers of the Therapy Sisters and a spirituality workshop lead by Kathy McCallie, pastor of the Church of the Open Arms. Additional workshops and discussion groups are encouraged.
Saturday afternoon the Open Mic gives everyone the opportunity to show off their talents. Bring your musical instrument, poetry, jokes or whatever to share with retreaters. Saturday evening's potluck supper gives everyone another opportunity to show off their talents . With the specialty dishes of all the retreaters, it's a real feast. The Therapy Sisters concert will highlightt the evening entertainment with a campfire afterwards.
Retreat registration includes all retreat activities, group cabin accommodations, Friday evening supper, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and the Saturday evening concert. Day registration is available for Saturday only and includes all Saturday activities and the Saturday evening concert. See the preregistration fonn on page 3 for suggested registration amounts. WRITERS WANTED -Needed: poets, reviewers, playwrights, novelists, journal
ists, essayists -- or anyone with a desire to write down some ideas. For April and May, a group will meet at Herland on Tuesday
evenings between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. If you waritto do some writing or read what you have already been working on, please join us.
Bring a blanket, a rug, a pillow, a candle with holder, a mirror, some choclate, snacks, colored makrers, sketch paper, and/or whatever will help get writing started-- of course, include paper and pencils or pens. Cl
LGBA CONCERT The Lesbian and Gay Bands of America will hold their spring
conference in Oklahoma City on April 23 -26. The combined band will present a concert at 7: 30 P .M. on Saturday, April 25 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 5200 N. Brookline, OKC.

2. Long-awaited solo album from Mary Reynolds. Sunday April 5, the wait is over Mary Reynolds, four-time
winner of the Gazette Music Awards Best Female Vocalist, will celebrate the release of her first full length ~olo recording ai Medinas with guest performers including Elys.e Angelo, Louise Goldberg and Emily Kaitz.
The CD includes Mary's greatest hit "Weller's Whiskey" as well as songs from Emily Kaitz, Ilene Wiess, and Komander Kody. The eclectic mix of songs and styles reflect the many moods of Mary and her voice.
A second metro release party will be held at Pipers in Norman, Thursday April 9. Mary will start at 8pm and take a long break to sign CDs and chat. Pipers is located inside Telepath Internet at 361h and Main. Cl
ORIGINAL BLESSING A four week study of the book, Original Blessing by
Matthew Fox will be sponsored by the Church of the Open Arms as a means to personal growth and ennchment.
Kathy McCallie, pastor of Church of the Open Arms is the facilitator. The group will meet Tuesday evenings, April 14 -- May 5 at 7:00 -- 8:30 in the fellowsttip hall of Mayflower Congregational Church building at 3901NW63rd.
The cost of the course is $18.00 which includes the book or $3.00 if the individual provides the book. Scholarships are available for those in financial need. For more information, call Kathy at 239-2799. Cl
