All Saints Sunday is November 5. It is the day on which we remember and give thanks for all those Christians who have died and are now part of the church triumphant. In the words of the apostle Paul, they have, “fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith and now they have received their reward in heaven.” On this day, we remember them and give thanks for the life they lived on earth and the life they shared with us. This is our day to reflect, remember and give thanks for them.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5
Don’t forget to set your clocks back before going to bed that Saturday night. Enjoy the extra hour! This is also a great time to change the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon mon-oxide detectors. Check and replace light bulbs outside to better see with it getting dark early. If you need help changing the batteries or light bulbs, please let the church office know and we can have someone come do this for you.
Sunday, November 12

THANK YOU so much to the CPUMW for presenting me a Special Missions Recognition award. I was completely surprised and so happy that you would honor me in this way. I am so blessed to be a part of your music ministry and part of a loving congregation! God bless you all for the wonderful work you do in our church and communities near and far. With a joyful noise, Candiss Krug
Sponsored by City Point UMC Children’s Ministries. Proceeds will help children attend Glen Lake Summer Camp.
& AUCTION Sunday, October 29
Help send a kid to Glen Lake Summer Camp.
Missions! ENGAGE Engage: Transforming Missions was a weekend workshop opportunity for anyone involved or interested in the mission work of the UMC and the local congregations. Held at FUMC Temple on October 6 and 7, Rev. Amy Tate-Almy had the opportunity to hear a session by Carmin MacMillan from the Wesley Center in Mansfield helping people, get out of pay day
loans and lead a follow-up session on using be church benevolence budgets in ways to help empower people vs. simple handouts. While it was for anyone, clergy and laity in the conference, the location made it difficult for church members in the northern part of the conference to attend. I hope you will let me know how I can answer some questions for you or talk to the missions team. Rev. Amy Tate-Almy
Dear United Methodist Women, Thank you so much for honoring me with a Special Mission Recognition Award at the UMW Sunday in September. I was greatly surprised yet deeply honored. Discipleship Group Feedback Needed! CPUMC is preparing the 2018 calendar! We need feedback from you. We keep hearing about the desire for small groups and that is a theme this year from con-ference. Small, accountability groups based on Wesley’s bands and classes from the 18th century! A small, women’s discipleship group has already begun on Wednesdays following the meal. Please provide some feedback to CPUMC.
