Ways to help your child at home and suggested activities: Encourage your child to dress and undress independently, What order do you put
your clothes on? Can you put on socks/tights, your coat? Encourage your child to eat with a knife and fork and have good table manners. Share a story at home before bed every night! Talk about the characters and
what happened in the story. Revisit favourite stories often. Continue to play rhyming puzzles and games. Can your child find rhyming pairs?
Can they find the odd one out? Encourage your child to draw pictures and talk about what they have drawn. Can
they write about their picture? Adding meaning to marks is an important stage in early writing.
Look for familiar numbers when you are out and about. Give your child a special number to look for, how many times can they find it?
Do some active counting at home! Can you do 5 jumps? How many times have I clapped? Count the stairs as you walk upstairs!
Go on a shape hunt around your home.
