Be PreparedThe biggest obstacle in getting children to eat

healthier is choosing items the are ready, easily prepared and available.

After school, have items that they prepared

the day prior ready as a snack.Take an afternoon and prepare a few meals

and freeze them to be pulled throughout the week.

Don’t make eating healthy a dreaded ordeal.

Providing ChoicesRemember – your child may not care for

everything you like.

They are more likely to eat items they like/chooseProvide a few choicesAllow children to participate in grocery

shopping Fruit Vegetable

Encourage Trying New FoodsOnce a week/month commit to introducing a

new food During these meals encourage each child to

try at least one bite.Allow them not to eat all of it if they at least

try it.Have children pick the new food for the

week/month.Be sure to reward.
