Case study #1Christchurch couple, both aged 28 years old with one child aged 6. They were wanting to consolidate debt and pay for home improvements. Their main bank had declined the application as it was sitting at 87% LVR and they didn’t want to pay for a registered valuation. They earned a combined income of $120k. Their NSR was strong at 67% and they had a good credit profile. A 2013 vehicle valued at $28k was offered as security.
They applied to consolidate $19k of debt from Visa and MTF, at an average rate of 18.5% p.a. and conduct $20k worth of home improvements.
A secured personal loan of $39k was approved at 9.9% p.a. over five years. The couple can clear their short term debts and make improvements on their house that will no doubt add value. As a result of the referal, the adviser received $1,560 paid within a week.
Case study #2Auckland couple, aged 25 and 29 years old, with two children aged 3 and 1. They were looking to improve their financial position to help them on the path to home ownership. Their combined income was approximately $83k, a Net Servicing Ratio of 85% and a strong credit profile. They also had a 2013 vehicle to offer as security.
They applied to consolidate two personal loans at above 15.9% p.a. and a maxed out credit card at 23.9% p.a.
Our team uncovered another personal loan at 13.95% p.a. and offered to consolidate a total of $33k into a secured personal loan at 13.9% p.a. over five years.
The couple are thrilled with the results and happy to now have only one loan payment to manage at a minimum rate. As a result of the referral, the adviser’s anticipated commission of $360 grew to $1,320, paid within a week.
Terms and conditions and normal lending criteria apply. A $250 approval fee and other fees apply.

Case study #3A Northland couple with two dependent children. Dad worked full-time and mum was a stay at home mum. The couple were looking to consolidate short term debt to free up servicing for a future home loan. Their combined income was approx $64k. Their NSR score was 85% and they had a good credit profile. They presented well with excellent account conduct and debt repayment history.
They applied to consolidate a personal loan at 15.95% p.a., a Visa at 25.45% p.a. and additional hire purchases.
An unsecured personal loan of $37k was approved at 15.9% p.a. over five years.
Debts have now been repaid and the customers are very happy to have one easy repayment with future home ownership in their sights. As a result of the referred loan the adviser received a commission payment of $1,480 paid within a week.
Case study #4A Hamilton couple, aged 25 and 32, with children aged 4 and 7. They have received regular income from wages and a boarder for at least 2 years and pay rent of $350pw. Their NSR score of 92% was quite high and their credit profile wasn’t great due to two defaults that have since been paid and several enqui-ries while they were shopping for a home loan. They have $20k in KiwiSaver.
Initially they applied with the broker for a home loan but were declined due to affordability. They then applied for a personal loan to consolidate $28k of debt at an average rate of 22% p.a.
An unsecured personal loan of $28k was approved at 19.9% p.a. over five years.
The customers are aiming to pay it within three years by adding lump sum payments as their boarder income is received and are enjoying the benefit of no early repayment penalties. Home ownership is now clearly within reach. As a result of the referred loan the adviser was paid commission of $1,120.
Terms and conditions and normal lending criteria apply. A $250 approval fee and other fees apply.
