OBITUARY
Rusty Smith Dr. Russell James SmithD.V.M., age 56 of Glasgow,Montana passed away onSeptember 29th, 2015 in SaltLake City of heart complications.Rusty was born in Columbus,Montana on December 22, 1958.He was the only child to Margot
(Mundell) Smith and ClarenceJames Smith. He attended school in RedLodge, Montana until 4th grade.His family then moved to Casper,Wyoming where he graduatedfrom Natrona County HighSchool in 1977. He then attendedCasper College for two years andcompleted his undergraduateeducation at the Universityof Wyoming finishing with aBachelor of Science Degree in1981. He continued on with hiseducation to earn his Doctorateof Veterinary Medicine at KansasState University in 1985.
Rusty met Kathleen AnnFarmer in March of 1978, andtheir 33-year marriage began onJune 5, 1982. hey were blessedwith two sons, Brady James Smithof Salt Lake City and Corey AllenSmith of Bozeman. Rusty and Kathy movedto Glasgow in June of 1985 to
begin their careers. He joinedand became a partner in 1991and purchased the GlasgowVeterinary Clinic in 1993, ashis desire was to work a mixedanimal practice in a ruralsetting. He was a member ofthe American Veterinarian
Medical Association, servedon the Montana VeterinarianState Board, and the Wells FargoBoard. He was very active in thecommunity. He coached his sonsin football, basketball, baseball,and soccer. He was a supporterof the Scottie Booster Club, abig sponsor of 4-H, Focus on theFamily, Montana Make-A-WishFoundation, and the Fort PeckSummer heater and sponsoredmany more as well as was veryinvolved in the community. Rusty had a variety of interestsincluding boating, kayaking,
hunting, skiing, whitewaterrafting, and fishing. He enjoyedtraveling with family and friends,dabbling in the stock market, andwas a diehard Broncos fan. He was a loving husband andfather. Rusty will be rememberedfor his kind, caring, and gentlenature. He is preceded in death
by his father and grandparents. Rusty is survived by his wife,Kathy of Glasgow; sons, CoreySmith of Bozeman and BradySmith of Salt Lake City; andmother Margot Smith of Casper,
Wyoming. Visitation will take placeFriday, October 2nd beginningat 1:00 PM. Family will receivefrom 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM, witha sharing taking place beginningat 6:00 PM at the Bell Mortuary.Services will be Saturday, October3rd, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the St.Raphaels Parish in Glasgow,Montana. Burial will take place atHighland Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements. Condolences maybe made at bellmortuarymontana.com.

The Scotty Bagpipe
The Scotty Homecoming Candidates in
October of 1952 were (front row, left toright) Dolores Candee Matuska, Jerry
Edwards and Sally Ferrin Sebastian. Backrow were Leith Wimmer, Sally Boston
Shipp and Jerry Luckman. Crowned
King and Queen on October 24th, 1952were Jerry and Sally. Jerry was quite the
athlete, Dolores remarked. The only twostill surviving are her and Leith.
