How the story starts…

I was sick – sick unto death with that long agony; and when they at length unbound me, and I was permitted to sit, I felt that my senses were leaving me. The sentence – the dread sentence of death – was the last distinct accentuation which reached my ears.

• It is impossible to say how the idea first entered my mind. But, I decided to slowly creep through the forest- with the dead body. Of course, the officers pass me by on the old pathway. Smiling politely, I welcomed the officers.

You now have 3 minutes to begin creating the plot of the story,

before you are asked to switch papers.How do you want to pull

your reader into this gruesome ordeal?Which sentences/fragments/vocabulary are you embedding?

A Halloween JokeA man was walking home alone late one foggy night, when behind him he hears:

BUMP...

BUMP..

BUMP...

Walking faster, he looks back and through the fog he makes out the image of an upright casket banging its way down the middle of the street toward him.

BUMP...

Terrified, the man begins to run toward his home, the casket bouncing quickly behind him...
