We encourage you to thank a sponsoring company today and enjoy to the fullest the outstanding options they provide to you!
Speakers presenting at FCA conventions do not represent or speak on behalf of the FCA. The FCA does not screen or approve speaker presentations. People attending a presentation should evaluate any offer or statement prior to acting on same. Unless specifically stated, the FCA does not endorse or approve any program, product, seminar or service offered by speakers or the companies or sponsors that they represent.
A speaker evaluation form is included in your convention packet and we welcome and are guided by your feedback. Should self-promotion or product promotion occur, please report it on the speaker evaluation form.

As you are probably already aware, the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine (BOCM) has adopted strict rules governing attendance procedures for license renewal CE hours. FCA events are large and offer many class options. A scanning system has been designed to make it quick and easy for you to document your CE hours.
We are required to verify your presence in the convention area throughout the time you are seeking to document CE hours, verified by photo identification. The two key concepts to remember are: (1) You will need to plan your schedule to be physically present in the convention area throughout the time for which you are seeking CE credit; and (2) You will need to have your driver’s license or verifiable photo ID with you at all times.
Attendance desks will be located conveniently near registration and classes on Thursday afternoon; in the main exhibit area all day Friday and Saturday; and near to classes on Sunday. All attendance desk locations and the expo will be on the Convention (Ballroom) Level.
You will need to verify your total CE hours for the event by visiting the attendance desks, quickly and easily documenting your presence by presenting your photo ID and your badge for scanning in the applicable time period. You will be asked to verify your attendance at the attendance desk one time for each two hours of classes. See the attendance planner spreadsheet for exact times you should visit the attendance desk. This will satisfy the requirement to document your presence in the convention area for your total CE hours. BE SURE YOU GO TO AN ATTENDANCE DESK DURING THE TIME PERIODS PUBLISHED IN THE ATTENDANCE PLANNER. Please do not form a line before the desk is open. There will be plenty of time to have your scanning done. If you see a line at the desk, simply visit with some vendors until it shortens, as the line will move quickly. Scanning has proven to be much faster than initialing.
To further verify your attendance in classes providing any “required” CE topics (such as Florida Laws Rules, Ethics, Medical Errors, Documentation & Recordkeeping, Risk Management), attendance personnel will be at the entrance to the class with scanners. They will check photo ID and scan the bar code on your badge as you enter and leave, to allow you to document your actual number of hours attended in that specific class. The scanners are clocks and record the actual times your badge is scanned. This is our best means of providing good documentation in the case of an audit. If you are in a class where scanners are being used, please cooperate by simply presenting your convention badge and photo ID as required. If you need to take a bathroom break, scan out and back into class. A reasonable break of 5-10 minutes will not adversely affect your CE hours. DO NOT BYPASS THE SCANNERS, OR YOU WON’T GET CREDIT. Remember that you only need to fulfill your specified subject requirements once per licensure biennium and you have two years to obtain all 13 “required topic” hours.
Also remember, even if you have been scanned in and out of a required class, you still need to go to the attendance desk at the designated times so that your total attendance hours will be accurate. Remember, the scanners are clocks and record the actual times your badge is scanned.
Be sure you follow the validation process at the attendance desk carefully to document your TOTAL CE hours. When you have completed all the CE hours for this event, attendance desk personnel will ask you to turn in your badge. After your badge is turned in, your attendance is complete. YOU MUST TURN IN YOUR BADGE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE CONVENTION FOR THE LAST TIME IN ORDER FOR YOUR CREDITS TO BE COMPLETE. Your personalized certificate of attendance will be issued to you by mail or e-mail to the address you have supplied within 6-8 weeks after the convention and will reflect the actual hours you documented by scanning your badge at the attendance desk (for total hours) and in any of the “required” topics.
We realize that your license renewal CE is important to you and will do everything we can to minimize inconvenience. Please understand that our convention space planning will be further enhanced as time goes on, to create more and larger classrooms and attendance locations, and we will work with new technology as it becomes available to us, as we will always be striving to make the process easier for you.
Those who have had their pictures made for our database will have their photo right on your convention name badge, so they won’t have to constantly keep their driver’s license available as photo ID. If you haven’t already done so, during this convention, please work with FCA registration personnel to have your headshot made for insertion into the FCA database system. Go to the Onsite Registration Desk beginning Friday after 3:00pm, or when there is no line at the desk. Once your photo is in our system, the whole attendance system can be made simpler and easier for you in future years.
For Florida license renewal, every 2 years, your licensing board requires 40 hours. Within the 40 hours you need at least:
6 hours in Documentation,2 hours in Medical Errors,2 hours in Ethics,2 hours in Florida Laws and Rules, and1 hour in Risk Management
2 hours in Acupuncture Technique (if holding certification)2 hours in Acupuncture Risk Mgmt. (if holding certification)
REMEMBER: You don’t have to attend all 13 hours of the defined, required classes at the SE convention. You have 2 years in which to obtain them all. You can get some of the required hours at this event and others at future FCA events during this biennium. The current biennium began on April 1, 2018 and ends March 31, 2020.
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES AT SE REGIONAL CONVENTION & EXPO FOR FLORIDA
FOR RENEWAL CE IN STATES OTHER THAN FLORIDAThis convention’s classes are typically approved for license renewal CE in 45 states other than Florida. If you don’t have specific topics that are required by your state for license renewal, simply attend the classes of your choice and visit the attendance desk at the times noted in this planner, to track your total accrued attendance hours. Your attendance certificate will reflect the total hours you documented at the attendance desk. If you need one or more of the “required” topics being offered for Florida renewal or if your state of license requires in-class attendance procedures, attend classes using the in-class scanning procedures described on this page so that you can document your class hours in those special topics. The various states do not follow a single standard in approving courses for license renewal CE. If individual states make some exceptions (either not approving all classes or imposing special attendance requirements for CE), these exceptions will be posted for your easy review on a bulletin board at or near the FCA Badge Pick-up Desk.

Carrick Institute Presents ReceptorBased® Essentials Kick off for Cape Canaveral, FL begins September 8-9, 2018 Presented by: Dr. Matthew Antonucci & Dr. Adam Klotzek
The Future of Clinical Neuroscience ReceptorBased Essentials, or "RBE", is the best entry-point into the practice of functional neurology. This program teaches a brain-based model for manual therapies, rehabilitation strategies, and performance optimization techniques which allows clinicians to better serve their current patient population as well as attract a new patient base. Based upon the feedback from our pilot programs, RBE serves as a "great introduction to functional neurology, that allows for immediate application", a "great review of foundational concepts that allow you to refine your applications, even if you've been practicing functional Neurology for decades", and "the glue that binds all functional neurology concepts together." RBE is ideal for the provider that might be interested in experimenting with neurological applications, or the veteran functional neurologist with a desire to reaffirm foundational concepts.
What this means to you:
• You will learn the clinical assessments and applications leveraged by the most successful clinicians in practice.• You will be confident knowing that the concepts are effective and supported by current research in the literature.• You will be able to immediately help your patients more effectively and efficiently with every module you attend.
Who can attend? RBE is open to all healthcare professions. Participants are solely responsible for ensuring that they remain within the scope practice defined by the legislation governing their license.
Become the Provider that Ratients are searching for! Patients are seeking clinicians who can truly understand the integrative nature of their conditions. You have a responsibility to make more than just an accurate diagnosis. You must have an understanding of all that contributes to your patient's health struggles. Those with the proper training have a significant advantage in their ability to serve their patients at the highest levels. Enroll today to begin your journey to clinical excellence!
