What is it?

• Internal placement scheme

• Piloted in 2012, now in 3rd year

• Funding is provided for 100 hour, project-based placements

• Academic and professional services departments can apply for funding

• Initially funded by the UEB, now funded by the Careers Service

Departmental Application Process• Four applications periods throughout

the academic year

• Staff submit application for review

• Internal panel review

• Applications are assessed as per the guidelines provided

• Funding is allocated on a faculty by faculty basis

Student Requirements

• Requirements – student has to complete:• 100 hour placement project

• Log book including initial review, mid point review and exit interview

• Skills for Work Certificate/Skills Assessment

• Case Study

• Eligibility – UG & PGT students can apply

• In 2013/14, 118 students were engaged in On CampUS Placements from the following faculties:• Arts & Humanities 20

• Engineering 25

• Medicine, Dentistry & Health 6

Occupational Study

Skills Record Sheet A log of the skills they have developed whilst

undertaking their work experience together with specific examples of how they can demonstrate these skills.

Practise at relating their skills to a job application

• Enables them to provide examples in applications /interviews.

• Acts as a useful resource for them or their referees.
