2. Safety First

2.1 Indications
TheProgramatEP3000/G2mustonlybeusedtofireand/orpressdentalceramicmaterialsanditshouldbeusedforthispurposeonly.Otherusesthantheonesstipulated,e.g.cookingoffood,firingofothermaterials,etc.,arecontraindicated.Themanufacturerdoesnotassumeanyliabilityfordamageresultingfrommisuse.TheuserissolelyresponsibleforanyriskresultingfromfailuretoobservetheseInstructions.

2.2 Health and safety instructions
ThisfurnacehasbeendesignedaccordingtoEN61010-1andhasbeenshippedfromthemanufacturerinexcellentconditionasfarassafetyregulationsareconcerned.Tomaintainthisconditionandtoensurerisk-freeoperation,theusermustobservethenotesandwarningscontainedintheseOperatingInstructions.
– Placefurnaceonafire-prooftable(observelocalregulations,e.g.distancetocombustiblesubstancesorobjects,etc.).
–Alwayskeeptheairventsattherearofthefurnacefreefromobstruction.
– Donottouchanypartsthatbecomehotduringoperationofthefurnace.Thereisaburnhazard.
–Cleanfurnaceonlywithadryorslightlymoistcloth.Donotuseanysolvents.Disconnectpowerbeforecleaning.
–Useoriginalpackagingfortransportationpurposes.
– Thefurnacemustbecoolbeforeitispackedfortransportation.

Anydisruptionoftheprotectiveconductoreitherinsideoroutsidethefurnaceoranylooseningoftheprotectiveconductorconnectionmayleadtodangerfortheuserincaseofamalfunction.Deliberateinterruptionsarenottolerated.Materialsdevelopingharmfulgasesmustnotbefired.

Thefiring/pressingchambermaybeheateduptomax.1200°C(2192°F)bymeansofaheatingelement.Furthermore,thefiringchamberhasbeendesignedinsuchawaythatavacuummaybecreatedwithavacuumpump.Thepresssureforthepressprocedureisgeneratedbyapressdrive.Thefiring/pressingprogramsarecontrolledwiththecorrespondingelectroniccontrolsandsoftware.Moreover,thesetandactualtempera-turesarecontinuouslycompared.

4.2 Selecting the location
Placethefurnaceonaflattableusingtherubberfeet.Makesurethatthefurnaceisnotplacedintheimmediatevicinityofheatersorothersourcesofheat.Makesurethatairmayproperlycirculatebetweenthewallandthefurnace.
Alsoensurethatthereisenoughspacebetweenthefurnaceandtheuser,asthefurnacereleasesheatduringtheopeningofthefurnacehead.
The furnace should neither be placed nor operated in areas where there is an explosion hazard.
4.3 Assembly
Makesurethevoltageindicatedontheratingplate(19)complieswiththelocalpowersupply.Ifthisisnotthecase,thefurnacemustnotbeconnected.
Werecommendkeepingtheoriginalpackagingforfutureserviceandtransportationpurposes.

WerecommendusingonlytheVP4vacuumpumpfromIvoclarVivadent,sincethispumpisespeciallycoordinatedwiththefurnace.Ifotherpumpsareused,pleaseobserveanddonotexceedthemaximumpowerconsumption.

Thisinformationisonlyshowniftheoperationmodehasbeenchanged.Makesurethatthefurnacerunsatthenewstand-bytemperaturelongenoughbeforeyoustartaprogram.
UsetheESCkeytoquitsuchmessages(Info,Hint,Error).TheacousticsignalcanbestoppedanytimebypressingtheSTOPkey.

5.1 Introduction to the operation
TheProgramatEP3000/G2isequippedwithagraphicaldisplaywithbacklighting.Thefurnacecanbeoperatedbymeansofthemembrane-sealedkeypad.Inaddition,theparameterscanbeselecteddirectlybymeansoftheParameterfiringcurvewiththeParameterkeys.Thenumericandcommandkeyscanbeusedtoprogramandcontrolthefurnace.
5.2 Explanation of the key functions
– Firing / Pressing (93) Selectionofthefiringorpressingmode
– Program key (70) Thiskeyisusedtoswitchbetweentheparameterscreenandthe
stand-byscreen(oroperationscreen).
– START key (73) Startstheselectedprogram.Thefactthattheprogramisrunning
isindicatedbythegreenStartLED.Iftheprogramisinterrupted(1xSTOP),theStartLEDflashesuntilrenewedpressingofSTARTresultsintheprogrambeingresumed.
