Dr. Cali Estes with the Addiction’s Academy presents a 1-day virtual training on understanding Opioid Use Disorder and associated topics. Participation includes counselors, therapists, peer support /recovery/prevention specialists, consumer

specialists, community health educators, and other behavioral health workforce. Five hours LADC Continuing Education Credits are available for this training.

The training will include the following domains:

Medication Management

Prevention Techniques

Post-acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS)

Acute Withdrawal

5 Brain health/neurotransmitters and why addiction occurs in the brain/dopamine pathways

Social Supports/Connections

HIV
