• Group– Group is Two or more persons interacting in a way

that each person influences each other.• Team– Team is a group of people committed to a

common purpose, and performance goals, for which the team members hold themselves mutually accountable.

Group Dynamics

• Group Norms– Norms are the informal rules which the groups

adopt to regulate the group members’ behavior.• Group Cohesiveness– This is the degree of interpersonal attractiveness

within a group, reliant on factors like similarities, proximity, attraction among the individual group members, intergroup competition, group size, and agreement about goals.

The Leader’s Role in Creating a Self-Managing Team

• Forming– In this stage the teams members begin working on their

responsibilities.– Training is the main task.

• Storming– The questions on who will be leading the team and the

structure will be formulated.– The leader makes sure team members learn and

exercise leadership skills.
