Nea Chili in the google map

About our locationNea Chili is a suburb of Alexandroupoli and a summer resort. Its name originated from the town “Sile” in the Black Sea where its residents come from. They settled down here in 1922, after the destruction of Asia Minor, when Greek masses were forced to abandon their homes, bringing their culture and civilization with them.

Our wider region in the google map

Alexandroupoli

Nea Chili is 4 km away from the center of Alexandroupoli, which is the first town of Greece connecting Asia with Europe, since it is only 40 km away from the Greek-Turkish borders. At first, it was just a fishing village but since 1880 it has become a contemporary town where various nations have coexisted in harmony, preserving their traditions and transmitting them to younger generations.

Our schoolThe primary school of Nea Chili is a nice, small school situated by the seaside of the so-called village. 217 pupils attend this school, aged between 6-12 years old, coming from the village and the nearby area.Every year, our pupils take part in different types of activities such as environmental programs, health education programs, sports competitions and celebration festivities inside our school.

The main school building on the leftand the gym on the right.

The old school building is also used, located in the same schoolyard.

Our gym is not only a gym. It is a multi-place where we play theatrical performances, dance and train when the weather is bad. Only few schools in Greece have a real gym. Thus, we have got used to this situation and by using portable equipment we train every day.
