What is Ozone? Ozone Layer?

Ozone (O3) is a highly reactive gas composed of three oxygen atoms. Depending on where it is in the atmosphere, ozone affects life on Earth in either good or bad ways.

The ozone layer is a layer in Earth's atmosphere which contains relatively high concentrations of ozone (O3)

1839 by German scientist Sir C. Friedrich Schonbein.

Why We are talking about Ozone Layer ?

• Absorbs sun’s harmful Ultra Voilet radiation.

• The ozone layer – ‘The earth’s sunscreen’ or ‘the earth’s umbrella.
