Procedure for applying a wax spacer

With a sharp pencil, draw a line at the full depth of the sulcus

Then carefully draw another line 3mm above

the other all the way around

Soften a single sheet of wax in the bunsen flame and adapt it firmly over the palate and into the full

depth of the sulcus

Check with your lecturer before you apply a second sheet.

Seal the wax with a hot knife into the depth of the sulcus
