The Vietnam Wall Its been years, in some cases even decades, since these
people have seen or even talked about their lost loved ones, in almost all cases the pain is unbearable. On Thursday, November 11th thru November 14th, the traveling half size replica model of the Vietnam Wall came to Wentworth Military Academy.
Family members with loved ones who lost their lives in battle came from near and far to mourn and remember the good times they once had. The cadets here at Wentworth were very helpful to those people doing all sorts of things to make their visit at the wall even more unforgettable, selling flowers, and driving people around on carts, or even just helping look up names seemed to do so much good. You never know how much that wall can mean to someone. Especially as you stand with a woman you met five minutes ago who bought a rose from you and watch her place it down as she mourns over her loss.
We learned so much that weekend and I know alot of other people did too. I'm glad the wall came to Wentworth. We got to see things we've never seen and learn about things you couldn't even imagine. Hopefully other kids around the world get to learn and share the same experiences the cadets at Wentworth Military Academy had.

Girls Basketball The 2004-2005 academic year marked the 125th year anniversary for the Corps of Cadets.
This historic year was filled with many memorable events and activities. One of the most exciting events was the addition of women's basketball to our athletic programs. Coached by Captain Pam Grohs, and Major Todd Kitchen, the Lady Dragons' inaugural season was full of excitement and challenges. Starting a new program and being expected to compete against well-established programs was no easy feat. The Wentworth women were up to the challenge, and were successful in winning nine games, including a consolation plaque from the Central River Conference Tournament, and a fourth place plaque from the South Harrison Invitational. The team was later honored by the Missouri State High School Athletic Association for superior academic performance for obtaining a combined grade point average of 3.0 during the season. The team's final honor came when Cadets Liz Roberts and Stephanie Williams were named to the Central River Conference's All Conference team. In addition, Cadet Roberts was named the Conference Player of the Year. These accomplishments will undoubtedly go down in the pages of Wentworth history. To the Lady Dragons of 2005,1 salute you, and thank you for your hard work in representing our school. "We will always be true, and we'll stand by you, Wentworth that we love so well."
~MAJ Todd L. Kitchen, Sr.~
Thanks to the girls that helped make this a great season for the Lady Dragons. The girls that played in the end of the season game were: Stephanie Williams, Liz Roberts, Mandy Uhrmacher, Janay Davis, Obi Ihenacho, and Ty VanVlimmeren.

I am very happy with the progress the team
made this year. Individually each
wrestler made great strides. It seems like
each match a different wrestler would step up to
keep us in the hunt for the win. Even in the 4 losses we were in the hunt for every win down until the last match. It made
for exciting wrestling to watch and to
coach.

Coach's Note
I can not overstate what a pleasure it has been to coach this group of men. They did a great job of representing the school.
Their work ethic was evident in the academic honors they earned, and in the improvement they showed on the mat
during the year. I feel confident that if each of these young men will continue to build on the work they did this year, they will
be successful in what ever endeavor they pursue.

Yearbook Working on this historic yearbook has been a great privilege for all of us. We have learned a lot about working hard and planning ahead. We have learned to appreciate each other, and have become acquainted with each others' strengths and weaknesses. (And no, we won't tell you what those are!) This has been an experience we will never forget. Thank you for this year.

Pep Band
The W.M.A Pep Band was back again. The band, with Captain Joe Davis conducting, performed at most of the girls' basketball games and several of the boys' basketball games. The band, of course, performed the Star Spangled Banner along with popular style tunes like Rock Around the Clock, The Pink Panther and The Horse.
The Pep Band ended their season on February 25 with a pizza party in the band room, sponsored by Captain Love, and their final performance of the year was at the basketball game that evening.
