AbE lincOLn was born in 1809 in kentucky. As a child his father didn't want Abe to be educated because he didn't go to school. but abe's father died and abe went to school. he lived in a small log cabin that his dad built.

abe learned to chop wood and became a lawyer. he hated slavery and wanted every body to be equal. his mother passed away from milk sickness.

abe was elected president in 1861 and married mary ann todd. he was responsible and people Trusted him like a leader. he won by just a few votes! their son willie died in 1862.

In 1862, he announced his emancIPATION PROCLAMATION WHICH WAS ABOUT ENDING SLAVERY. THE SOUTH WAS UPSET. THEN THE CIVIL WAR BEGAN IN 1864. THE CIVIL WAR WAS A BATTLE BETWEEN WHITES IN SOUTH who wanted slavery & whites & blacks in the north who wanted to END SLAVERY. TWO YEARS LATER HE WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT THE SECOND TIME. the north won the war in 1863 in gettysbUrg, pa. abe gave a famous speech called "the gettysburg address." ABE DECIDED TO ADD THE 13TH AMENDMENT WHICH ENDed SLAVERY and put it in our

constitution in 1865.

ONE terrible day Abe was shot by john wilkes booth, a man who wanted slavery back. but luckily booth was put behind bars after abe's death in 1863. And there is a lesson learned

of course. ALWAYS

BELIeVE IN YOURSELF.

One thing I've learned is LISTEN TO YOUR GUT.

ABE LINColN is a changemaker because:

1. HE ENDED SLAVERY. 2. HE CHANGED THE LAWS.

3. HE THOUGHT THAT ALL PEOPLE ARE GOOD.

My Changemaker is connected to harriet tubman because they both ended slavery.
