• Rejected reason and logic• Prized nonsense, irrationality, and intuition• Rejected prevailing standards in art• Anti-war• Anti-Bourgeois

• Again, because Dada arose as a negative reaction to WWI, you are going to design a poster advertising the benefits of living in a period of Peace.

• What does peace mean?• What are conventional symbols of Peace?• Since Dada was unconventional, what are

some less common symbols of Peace?

• You need to find a variety of symbols for Peace that are NOT common.– No peace signs!– No doves!– No smiley faces!– No olive branches!

• The best way to go about this is to think of things that represent peace to YOU personally!

• Once you have identified some personal symbols for peace, arrange them into a composition:– Nothing smack in the middle– Include a background– Use a small, medium, AND large images– Crop images in 1/3’s, not in half

• Since this is a poster, you may include text, but choose your words carefully…try to choose words that pack a punch.
