“ Partnering with you to advance Syngas Technology”
OUR DIFFERENTIALS•Saint-Gobain’s ceramic materials’ team provides solutions to demanding thermochemical and thermomechanical process requirements found in syngas applications.
•Saint-Gobain utilizes high purity raw materials along with specialized manufacturing processes to produce our shapes.
•Materials resulting from our process are of the highest consistency and quality -- they have excellent erosion and corrosion resistance along with the necessary mechanical strengths and duty level to achieve the longest service life in your application.
•Saint-Gobain has been a leader in material solutions for the syngas industry since the 1950s. We supply aluminas for reformer vessels and both alumina and chromia alumina products for non-slagging and slagging reactors. We employ a team of engineers to assist with the design and material solutions for your process.

SAINT-GOBAIN’S SOLUTIONS FOR SYNGAS APPLICATIONS
GASIFIERS
Gasifi cation o ers the cleanest, most e cient method available to produce syngas from low or negative-value carbon-based feedstocks. These include coal, petroleum coke, high sulphur fuel oil or materials that would otherwise be disposed as waste. We design and manufacture reactor linings and brick shapes that suit your needs.
Solid fuel gasifi cation: ZIRCHROMTM, our chrome-zirconia based products (bricks and monolithics), have been installed successfully in over 20+ reactors; as well as with our alumina products
Liquid fuel gasifi cation: Our high alumina products in dense and lightweight (insulating) quality o er resistance against liquid gasifi cation residues from feedstock. Our product encompasses monolithics, including mortars and castables for installation of refractory lining.
•Backup layer: -Chrome alumina bricks (Chromcor 12)-High alumina bricks (RI34, AN599)
•Insulating layer: -Bubble alumina castable (RI34HR)
•Hot face: -Chrome zirconia bricks (Zirchrom 90, Zirchrom 900, Zirchrom 600)-High alumina bricks (AL100, AL102)
•Backup layer:High alumina zirconia bricks
•Di usor dome: -High alumina bricks (AL100, ALFRAX 101)
SECONDARY REFORMERS
The refractory lining plays an indispensable role in the severe operating conditions of a secondary reforming reactor. High purity refractory products in the hot face, as well as in the insulating layers, o er distinct advantages.
Our products have withstood the test of time with proven performance records and are endorsed by major design and engineering companies.
•The inner lining of the reformer can be composed of an alumina castable or built from high alumina brick (AL100/ AH199B / Alfrax 101). Hex tiles can and have been made from the same grades. Saint-Gobain has no supply experience with ZrO2 as of yet.
•Bubble alumina brick RI34 is the preferred material for insulating layer.
