The Mission Statement

• The mission of Phillips Preparatory School of Choice is to produce self-directed, goal-oriented, technologically literate, well-adjusted individuals, both physically and mentally, who have a positive direction in life.

The Program at Phillips

• Responsibility, respect for authority, and patriotism are traditional concepts of education which are emphasized at Phillips. Citizenship, ethics, and our American heritage are infused into all areas of the program.

Science Fair Projects

• All students are required to complete science fair projects. It is a very unique, hands-on way to learn about science.

Students present their science fair project to the class.

Phillips Has Outstanding Results at both the County and State

Science Fair• 2004-2005 State Science Fair Winners• 6th grade honorable mention in zoology• 6th grade 1st place winner in physical science and

best in show award• 7th grade second place in zoology• One of last year’s 8th graders had competed at

the State level each year he attended Phillips and won each time. This was quite an honor for him and for our school.

• We are very proud of our students and their work.

Students also have a good time dissecting in science.

Phillips exploratory courses have much to offer.

Students show their school spirit on “crazy hat” day the week of homecoming.

They continue to show school spirit on “crazy shoe and sock” day.

Phillips offers many sports activities for 7th and 8th graders.

• Cheerleading• Football• Basketball• Volleyball• Track

Phillips also offers many other activities. One of our scholar’s bowl teams practices

for an upcoming competition.

We also have other clubs and organizations for students to join and

participate in..• FBLA• FCA• Web Masters• Math Team• Journalism / Yearbook• Student Council• Student Athletics• National Junior Honor Society

Students line up to participate in the Spelling Bee.

A fine competition took place for 1st place this year.

Giving to others in need is a priority for Phillips’ students. Here students enjoy

an assembly for United Way.

At our United Way Assembly, teachers were voted on by the student body to participate in

the “Fear Factor” contest.

Mrs. Sweeney (our assistant principal) did not enjoy the pig’s feet.

Pep Rallies are also exciting events at Phillips.

Students rise to show their school spirit and support school teams.

Phillips’ SAT Scores are among the best in the county.

Dress Code for Boys

• Boys wear khaki pants, a white button down shirt, white socks, brown shoes, and a brown braided belt.

• Short, traditional, conservative haircuts are part of the dress code.

Dress Code of Girls

• Girls can choose between two types of skirts or khaki pants.

• Students wear a white button down, white socks, and brown shoes.

Transportation is available for all students.
