Purpose of the ACP chapter is to :
- Provide a decision making process for response
- Apply existing procedures for coordinated trans-boundary and trans-jurisdictional decision making
Possible determinations for a POR vessel may include:
- Continue Voyage - Potential POR site A - Potential POR site B - Repair in Place - Scuttle - Grounding
WASHINGTON – OREGON Potential Place of Refuge
Decision making process will take into consideration:
- The master of the vessel , or his designated representative information.
- Consultation with the appropriate agencies. - Human Health & Safety - Environmental consequences - Economic Factors - Ship Status and Risk Factors - Response & Salvage Resources
Other Considerations are: - Historic Resources - Cultural Resources - Response, Salvage, Firefighting and Repair
Resources - Physical attributes of Ports, Anchorages or
Beaching Site’s - Other Command Management Factors
