PHOTOSYNTHESIS

BY:PUTRY ENDAHSARI

LIGHTCHLOROPHYLL

The process by which plants make glucose from raw materials using energy from light.

6CO2+6H2O C6H12O6+6O2

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?!

Light provides energy for the process.Chlorophyll absorbs the energy from light.Carbon Dioxide diffuses into the leave from the air.Water absorbed by the plant’s roots from the soil.

PRODUCT OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS

OXYGEN&

GLUCOSE

THE FUNCTION OF GLUCOSE:

Respiration in the leafBecome starch and will be use in the future, e.g. at nightTo make cellulose(make cell wall)Converted be sucrose to transported to other parts of the plant in the phloem

The Function of Oxygen

Used by the plant’s respiration, if more than needed oxygen will diffuse out into the athmosphere.

LEAVES

Large surface area absorb light rays.Thin shape gases can diffuse in and out easily. Many chloroplasts to absorb light for the

reactions.Veins support the leaf surface

carry water and ions to the leaf cells

take sucrose + amino acid to all other parts

For healthy growth and development of plants.

To replace the missing nutrients.

MINERAL REQUIREMENTS(SOIL)

FERTILISIER

What are the nutrients that needed?

Nitrate : make proteins, hormonesMagnesium : make chlorophyllPhosphate : make DNA, for respiration
