• Call upon all Singaporeans to care for, pledge themselves to, and take actions for worthy causes

Mission

Pledge Ourselves Narrative

● Driven by partners under the SG Cares movement in celebration of National Day

“The Pledge is a symbol of our nationhood and commitment to build a Singapore that we are proud of. In celebration of the National Day, we can reflect on our success, pledge ourselves and take action with a sense of common purpose. Regardless of race, language or religion, we can care for each other, and act together as a people to achieve happiness and progress for Singapore, our home.”

Key Messages

• Caring for others is the Singapore Spirit and our national identity

• We can care through our daily life routines and interactions with people

• Volunteering can be designed to fit into our priorities and lifestyles

• Together, we can play a part, big and small, to make Singapore a more caring and inclusive home for all.

Get Involved!Select a pledge

• Refer to the NDP website (to be launched in May 2020) for pledge suggestions

• URL to be provided when the site is live

Plan a project

• Sign up for an initiative with an NDP partner (through the NDP website) or plan your own community project

• Share community projects details with the Pledge Ourselves Secretariat

Take Action

• Execute the community project

• Upload images with the hashtag #PledgeOurselves #SGCares

Culminate

• All efforts will lead up to the pledge moment on 9 Aug

• Pre-schools are encourage to send in their pledges on NDP distributed pledge cards by mid-Jul

• Help a friend with a task

• Share something with your friend

• Show appreciation

• Pick up litters around the school

partnering with an NDP partner or organising your

own projects

Amplify

• Leverage NDP’s efforts to extend reach of partners’ initiatives

• Network of over 50 participating organisations

Connect

• Match initiatives with interested individuals and groups, as well as prospective corporate sponsors.

• Provide a coherent narrative for the various efforts

• Physical and online activations leading up to the pledge movement for partners to join

Start Small Dream Big

Messages

• Every child is a part of and can contribute to Singapore

Action

• Start Small Dream Big Projects can support and amplify the Pledge Ourselves campaign

Publicity

• Provide NDP platforms to show case efforts by pre-schools through Pledge Ourselves campaign

• e.g. Video to document projects, social media shout outs

Partnership

• Provide link ups with Volunteer Centres or any other partners to help plan activities
