Objective of the Project

The creation of a pilot Plant Micro-Reserve

network in Western Crete (Chania Prefecture).

The network is comprised by 7 reserves, all

situated within the boundaries of 4 SCI (NATURA

2000 sites).

QUESTION: Do we really need research as a basis for conservation projects? YES, Because the ‘knowledge basis’ should be updated and widened continuously AND large gaps do exist in our knowledge concerning to species and habitats of Community interest
