PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am an Italian architect, university studies have exposed me to the knowledge and the constant use of graphics software for page layout, photo editing, 3D modeling and rendering. In subsequent years, the passion for design and graphics has led me to broaden my scope and to seek regular updates on the world of image and visual communication.
As a graphic designer, I consider myself to be a good problem solver and strive to deliver the most effective solutions at the highest of standards. I have built a strong nationwide clients base and developed the ability to work both in a team and as a freelancer in direct contact with companies.
Nowadays I work as Graphic and Web Designer for a design & printing agency based in London and I developed new skills as regards Wordpress, Printing, Typesetting, Manuscript Formatting, and Book Design.

BOTTLE SHAPE & MATERIALS
For the bottle design I have thought at some perfume bottles, with an elegant and simple shape.
Through my experience with the architecture studies I decided to present a classic shape for the bottleneck construction, taken from the Gagliardi’s Studio. Rosario Gagliardi was an Italian architect born in Syracuse. He was one of the leading architects working in the Baroque.
Using the same diameter circle four time for the bottle’s height and two time for the bottleneck and cap I gave to the packaging an elegant and sophisticated shape, with the right proportions.
As for the material I have decided to keep a neutral colour range, thinking that there is no better way to represent an identity for a product that does not present any colouration, like is the dry gin. And it is for this reason that I have used only glass for the container and brushed steel for the top (cap) and the bottom (base).

NAMING & LOGO
With regard to the naming for this product I immediately thought of the raw material from which it results the gin: the juniper berries.
Analyzing the word juniper and translating it into the language Italian it becomes “GINEPRO”.
The word GINEPRO can be broken down into GIN + PRO. Hence the word made GIN & PRO, meaning Professional Gin.
As for the label I immediately thought that it would definitely be with transparent background and that the text had to be black.
I started studying a logo that would serve as a label as well, simple setting and with a condensed bold font, maybe split in two words, placed one on the other and surrounded by a coloured frame.
