MaskMasks are a universal art form.

Various cultures around the world, from the Japanese to the Es-kimos, have indigenous masks. In dif-ferent societies masks take on diverse functions ranging from the sacred and spiritual to the mundane and comical.

Asia has a rich and colorful cultural history, and masks have played a major role in Asia tradition for thousands of years. Chinese masks, depending on their function, are divided into several

masks, Tibetan masks, shaman masks and theatrical masks. Today, masks

continue to be of great artistic and entertainment value.

Many Asian countries have distinct masks of their own, yet similarities in

neighboring areas. Asian masks are typically used for spiritual, cultural and decorative purposes. Many countries wear masks for tribal rites, religious celebrations and theatrical perfor-mances. Masks can depict human faces, real or mythical animals or represent deities. Also, Asian masks have become highly desired items by collectors worldwide.

My

MaskMy ideal about the mask is con-

necting the Chinese Opera and the Japanese women. Chinese Opera masks and Japanese Non mask s have a long history, and their women mask is very special. Japanese masks and Beijing Opera masks is a very good example to represent of Asian masks.

I have researched the mask, and the draw it. Next I put my ideal in the

print out everything the make them together. The texture I inspirit of the element of Beijing Opera, and add

headwear.
