Statement:

We all want to be told what to do, we all want to be lied to and we all want to be manip-ulated. It is the architect's re-sponsibility to provide us with these services. Like the Presi-dent to the Unit-ed States, the Architect leads us in our spatial realms. We are spurred through spaces, we are visually tricked, and manipulated to inhabit the unin-habitable. These magical qualities are skills I want to possess as an architect.

BASIC PROGRAM:

Fall 2009: The progression of the volume means progression of activity.

Student: Samuel Goëdker is a young college student

who values leisure time with family and friends. The decrease in company

enables an introverted be-havioral pattern. There-fore more people around Samuel spells a increase

in activity.

INFILLPOOL3

The context conceals the program.

INFILLPOOL

Typical Façade: ‘Introverted’ Façade:

Fall 2011: The introverted form, makes inhabitants extroverted.

INFILLPOOL

Fall 2011: The premise of the ‘Infill‘ architecture is a rede-velop an existing site into something that holds a new meaning. The new program is a rehabilitation facility that centers on a pool.

The lively Downtown Ann arbor site (S.University+Church St.) encourages the program to have some sort of disconnect from the urban context. The overall design encourages the inhabitants to shift their focus inward on each other to create a sense of community captured inside a urban environment.

LAND-FADE [MAN-MADE]4

Intertwining land with man.

LAND-FADE[MAN-MADE]

Winter 2012: The parking lot for Taubman College needed a renovation that considered more of the needs of its users. The concept was to engage the two main inhabitants to the new design.

Fall 2012-11th and Wabash, Chicago IL: The Sliver Tow-er is a high-rise structure that brings its inhabitants intimately closer to their desired atmosphere. Being that this project has two distinct clients, the struc-ture naturally morphs into its natural form.
