ARCHITECTURE

THE BRIDGE TO THE HOUSE - a block of flats

The block of flats was designed on a current vacant lot in the historical centre of Ostrava. The main princips of this building were: cutting house into two masses connected just with bridges, thanks to that there is enough sunlight in all the flats, other idea was design of a common space for inhabitants of this residential dwelling. In this case it is a communal garden in the void space in the middle of the house. The building provides the living for young families, couples and all people. There are two shops and entrance to underground parking on the ground floor.

ANALYSIS FROM VILLA PALIČKA

Main goal was to design a pavilion in the surroun-dings of Osada Baba, which was the centre of func-tionalism in czech architecture of 1930‘s. There should be exhibition about villas in Baba, functionali-sm and one concrete villa, which we choosed. During the designing process I was mainly inspired by Vila Palička from Mart Stam. And I choosed 3 princips from it, which I used in my project.

PLACE FOR MYSELF

Main goal of this project was to create a small house for ourselves where we would like to live durinfg our studies at University. It should contain everything necessary for evereday life. Our houses were located in the area of Divoká Šárka valley in Prague. We were limited by the mass of 90 m3, so we had to find new ways in desiging small place and comming out with nonstandart sollutions.
