THE JOURNEY BACK IS A JOURNEY TOO

When I watch my children play, I often wonder what exactly is going on in

their mind; what they are thinking about when they're highly concentrated

on something and when they isolate themselves from their direct

environment; how they experience their reality? I wonder why we all lose

these intense moments over time. Most people cannot remember anything

from their earliest years. Where do all those memories go? Have we lost

them forever, or have we stored them somewhere, in the deepest regions

of our mind, or in a tiny little room tucked away far from everything else?

What if that room still exists? How can we find our way back to it? And how

do those first years inf luence our character, our emotional life and our

perception of today's world, our hopes and desires, our fears and dreams?

Do these years contain the seed from which our character grows or are we

merely the product of our DNA? Often, I try to return to those early years,

my journey to the inside, to that one little room that might hold all the

answers. The room of my childhood…

my dreams…

my past…

my happiness…

my fears…

my colors…

my emotions…

my silence…

my sound…

my lines.
