What is PowerPoint?

• PowerPoint is a presentation/graphics program

• It is part of Microsoft Office

• It was created with instructors or public speakers in mind

Use PowerPoint to create

• A slide presentation to run on a computer monitor or to use with a projection device

PowerPoint can also create

• Physical slides that can be used with overhead projectors

• 35 mm slides that can be used with slide projectors

• Certificates

• Awards• School reports• Websites (although I

don’t recommend it)• Calendars• Charts and graphs• Scrapbooking pages

Presentations can include

• Clip art

• Animation

• Photographs

• Sound

• Speaker’s notes

• Handouts

• If you ever read your slides to your audience, I will come after you with a wet noodle!
