A Trip to Madeira Island

Comenius Project

Monday

• On Monday we welcomed the pupils in our school and presented the remaining works. In the afternoon we had a snack at school, so the pupils could interact with their hosts.

Tuesday

• On Tuesday when we came to school we took a group photo, then we went to the Market Place. After lunch we headed up to Funchal Town Hall.

Wednesday• On Wednesday we went to the botanical

garden and we spent the morning there. After that, in the afternoon we went for a levada walk from Ribeiro Frio to Portela.

ThursdayOn Thursday we went for a tour around the island.We took the bus in front of the school and then we moved on to the first stop, The Cabo Girão Sky Walk.

After that we went to Ribeira Brava to visit the Etnographic museum where we saw the typical culture of the region

Next stop was in the north of the island, Porto Moniz, and we visited the aquarium.

Thursday

The last stop was in Santana, the capital of the north. We tasted the typical drinks and we saw the typical Santana Houses. Before our return we ate all together and we visited the old part of the town.

FridayFriday was the last day. In the morning we went to Monte by cable car. We visited the church and tried the typical transport: the Monte tobbogan Ride. In the afternoon the Spanish left and the school offered the other delegations a dinner in the Hotel Escola.

Conclusion

• In the end we think that this was a really interesting experience. The fact that we can know other cultures and learn new things is amazing.
