Sophomore Steps▪ Step 1: Know yourself

▪ Evaluate yourself- your interests, abilities, and work values.

▪ Step 2: Explore options▪ Gather information to consider career options that

relate to what you know about yourself.

▪ Step 3: Make Plans / Take Action▪ Consider issues that can affect your plans and take

appropriate actions to accomplish your goals.

● Encourage your student to seek out assistance ○ Drop in Center ○ Support Rooms○ Teacher office hours

● Support your student in developing a home study routine; not just assigned homework.

● Extra curricular:○ Strong / deep commitment to a few activities is

preferred over minimal commitment to many.

▪ Parents have their own login, so you do not need to ask students for their information

▪ Students should also be monitoring their progress
