POPULATION

• It seems small,

but has 2,700

inhabitants.

It is in the Osona area.

WINTER FESTIVAL

• On the 21st, THE SPEECH

by a famous person.

• On the 22nd there is the

traditional dance called LA

TRENCADANSA.

• Then THE GIANTS, Vicenç

and Agata, dance in the

streets.

Traditions• Our main traditions

are dances.

• The most popular are:

• Trencadansa,• Ball de bastons• Pitota • Contràpas.

SUMMER TOWN FESTIVAL• On the 24th and 25th of June we follow the

Xaranga Orchestra dancing down the streets.

• We dance The Contrapàs dance in a circle around the square.

Our neighbours• There are some beautiful

villages next to Prats de Lluçanès.

• Sant Bartomeu del Grau, Olost, Sant Boi, Oristà, Sant Feliu Sasserra, Perafita, Sant Martí d’Albars, La Blava, Lluçà, Santa Maria de Merlès, Santa Creu de Joglars, Sagàs, la Quar, Santa Eulàlia de Puig-Oriol, Gaià i Alpens.

Food

• Lamb, pork, cod, rabbit, duck, potato country, cabbage, peppers, beans, meats, handmade sausiges and cheese.

• Their names are Vincenç and Àgata

• They are twenty-five years old.

• They are for fun at festivals.

• They dance in parades.

Ancient laundry• There is an ancient

laundry from 1911

• Until then women

washed their clothes

in the river.

• We got running water

in 1962.

• Our COAT OF ARMS

has got a gold crown,

a gold castle with six

red windows and

four white flours.
