IncidentFormWhatBoatandOarsCanIUse?AllPRCmemberscanusePRCClubsingles,doublesandpairsanytimetheboatisavailableandtheconditionsaresafe.PRCClubboatsaremarkedontherackswithalightgreen“sleeve”ononeoftheracksupports;theseboatsarealsolistedinthePRCReservationBooklocatedbythesidedoorinBay1andcanbereservedupto3daysaweekbythesameindividualbysigningtheboatoutintheReservationLog.TherearetwoothertypesofPRCboats:LimitedUse(markedbyayellow“sleeve”)andRestrictedUseboats(markedbyared“sleeve”).LimitedUseboatsmaybereservedandusedbymemberswhoarewithacoachorafterobtainingpermissionfromthePRCOperationsManager.RestrictedboatsareforusebyPRCCompetitiveTeamsduringscheduledpractices;theseboatscannotbereservednorusedoutsideofpractice.PRCClubScullingOarsarelocatedinthegreenbin(locatedatthefrontofBay2-3)andmarkedwithgreentapeontheshaftORtheoarsintheyellowbin(locatedatthefrontofBay3-4)andmarkedwithyellowtapeontheshaft.PRCCompetitiveScullingOarsarelocatedintheredbin(locatedatthefrontofbay4-5)andaremarkedwithredtapeontheshaft.TheseoarsaretobeusedbymembersofthePRCCompetitiveTeamsorindividualswithextensivescullingexperienceandahighdegreeofproficiency.

Note:Themajorityofthesinglesandscullingoarsintheboathouseareprivatelyownedandarethusnotavailableforgeneraluse.Useofprivatelyownedrowingequipmentmayresultintheterminationofmembershipwithoutrefund.WhatistheBoatReservationProcess?WehaveapaperReservationBooklocatedontheshelfinBay1.BoatsthatcanbereservedarelistedintheReservationBook.Youmayreservethesamehullupto3timesaweekintheReservationLog.Youmayusethesamehullasfrequentlyasyouwantprovideditisavailable.PleasewriteyourfirstandlastnameintheReservationBookforthehull,dateandtimeyouintendtousetheboat.Ifyourplanschangeandyoucannotusetheboat,pleaseupdatetheReservationBooksothatanothermembermayusetheboat.Ifaboatisreservedbutisstillontherack15minutesafterthereservedtime,itisavailabletobeused.WhenCAN’TIrow?PRCClubboatscanbeusedanytimetheyarenotreservedandanytimetheconditionsaresafe.Rowersmustusecommonsenseandlaunchonlyinconditionsthatmatchtheirskillset,beingcautiousofhighwinds,fog,heavyrains,extremetemperatures,busywaterconditionsanddarkness.TheFourOarRulemaybeinvokedduringtimesofextremecoldandthismeansthatonlyPRChullsthathavefouroarsmaylaunch.Privateboatownersmaylaunchbutitisnotrecommendedforpurposesofsafety.IftheFourOarRuleisineffect,signswillbepostedontheinteriorandexteriordoorsleadingtotheboatbays;anAllMemberemailwillalsobesentoutcommunicatingthattheFourOarRuleisineffect.LowLightConditions:AnyrowerwhowillberowingwhenitisdarkorduringlowvisibilityMUSThavenavigationlightsaffixedtothehull.Rowersareresponsibleforprovidingtheirownnavigationlights.Thesecanbefoundatmostmarinestoresandonline.DockUseThedockisbusiestMonday-Fridaybetween5-7:30am,Monday-Fridayfrom4-6:45pm,andSaturdayandSundaybetween6-9:30am.Itisespeciallyimportanttobequickonandoffthedockduringthesepeaktimes:haveallnecessaryequipmentreadilyavailable(boat,oars,gadgets,etc)andadjustriggingpriortoputtingtheboatonthedockoronthewater.Forreasonsofsafety,dockingcrewshavepriorityoverlaunchingcrews.

Smallboatsshouldusetheangleddockontheleft;itissetlowertobetteraccommodatetheseboats.FacilityUseTheFitnessfacilityisavailabletoPRCmembers7daysaweek,24hoursadayunlessotherwisecommunicatedviapostedandelectronicmessages.Pleasere-rackyourweightsandcleanthecardiovascularequipmentafteruse.Ifapieceofequipmentisnotfunctioningproperly,pleasereportthisonthewhiteboardlocatedbetweenthelockerrooms.PeakuseforthefitnessfacilityisMonday-Friday5:00-7:00amand3:15-6:30pm(August-May)andMonday-Friday8:00-11:00am(June-August)whentheYouthSummerCampsareinsession.LockerRoomsandLockersTheuseofcellphones,audioorvideorecordingisprohibitedinthelockerroomsatalltimes.Thelargerlockersareavailableforrentonaquarterlybasis.Toreservealocker,pleaseselectanavailablelockerandcontactMemberServicesatinfo@pocockrowingcenter.org.ThesmallerlockersareavailableasDayUselockersandmaybeusedduringthetimeyouareusingthefacility.DayUselockersmaynotbeusedovernight,anditemsleftinDayUselockersmayberemovedbymanagement.LostandFoundClothing,gear,waterbottles,backpacks,etc.thatisleftinthefacilitywillbeplacedinthefarleftcubbiesinthehallwayleadingtothelockerrooms.Itemswillberemovedanddonatedwhenthecubbiesarefull(approximatelyevery2weeks).Electronics,jewelry(includingsunglasses),andothervaluablesthatarefoundwillbeavailableintheMainOfficeandcanberetrievedbycontactingMemberServicesatinfo@pocockrowingcenter.org.VolunteerServiceHoursAllmembersofthePocockRowingCenterarerequiredtofulfill10volunteerservicehoursayearorpaythe“optoutfee”of$100perhour.Therearenumerouswaystovolunteer,includingLearntoRow,facilitywork,committees,andothereventsthroughouttheyear.

MemberUpdatesandEmailsMemberUpdatesaresentweeklyviaemailandcontaininformationaboutvolunteeropportunities,socialandculturalevents,registrationinformationandraceschedules.Specialemailsarealsosenttocommunicateimportantsafetyinformationorothertime-specificinformation.GuestPolicyforGuestsofPRCMembersAsamember,youmaybringanadultguest(18+)tousethefacilitywithyou,subjecttothefollowingrules:

• ThePRCMembersponsoringtheguestmustaccompanytheguesttothefacilityandtheguestisonlypermittedtousePRCfacilitiesandequipmentwhenaccompaniedbythesponsoringPRCMember;

• ThePRCMembersponsoringtheguestisresponsibleforallcharges,includingClubboatusage($10/day)orlaunchfees($10/day);

• ThePRCMembersponsoringtheguestisresponsibleforanydamagecausedbytheirguest;

• ThePRCMember-sponsoredguestisexpectedtofollowallPRCproceduresandrulesaslaidoutinthisMembers’Handbook;
