PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

We use the present continuous tense

to talk about things that are happening

around the time we are doing, thinking

or talking about them.

The table shows how we form the –ing form of a verb.

Most verbs + ing walk

Verbs ending in e - e + ing come coming

Verbs ending in ie-ie + y + ing lie lying

Short verbs ending in a vowel + a consonant

Double the consonant + ing run running
