Coveme was founded in Bologna, Italy in 1965. For many years the company was specialized in the distribution of flexible insulation materials in Italy and Europe. In the mid 1990’s Coveme opened its own production plant in Gorizia and within few years the company has become one of the major players in the manufacturing of engineered polyester films for high-end uses. Today the turn-over related to converted film raises over 70% of the company’s total with a clearly up-going tendency.

Coveme Business Divisions
The current state of the planet’s energy resources is forcing the international community to invest more time and money into the search for alternative sources of energy compatible with the environment. Solar power is assuming an ever more important role in this quest, an almost inexhaustible source of power with relatively low costs.
Since the beginning of the 1990’s Coveme has developed a technological component known as “back sheet”, made of the highest performing materials on the market today such as fluoropolymers, high grade polyesters and adhesives resistant to hydrolysis and ultraviolet rays.
These characteristics are vital for the correct functioning over time of photovoltaic systems. The range of Coveme laminates protects photovoltaic cells from humidity, atmospheric agents and chemical attacks, guaranteeing total insulation at high voltages and perfect adhesion to EVA.
Coveme, thanks to its internal research department, has found the most suitable formula to respond to the requirements of the manufacturers of high quality solar panels. It is the sole owner of this technology and has developed a support team to help clients with their development and certification needs.
Coveme products for solar and photovoltaic applications are produced and tested in conformity with all common standards and regulations.

Tedlar® versus PET
The damp heat test shows that the Tedlar® does not protect the inner layer. It is a good UV barrier, is
chemical inert but not an effective vapour barrier. It still keeps its appearance, but it only hides possible
degradation of the inner layer.
