Resources

Resources
BACK TO BASICS
• There is a wide range of resources available to support brigade activities.
• Think about the activity and talk to your CEC about what resources can be organised.
• Plan ahead. There are too many stories of brigades that missed out on resources because they waited till the last minute to order them.
9
Resources
BACK TO BASICS
• Resources can be posters or large scale maps of the brigade area.
• Or demonstration materials organised by the brigade such as petrol water pumps, rake hoe, sample protective clothing for civilians.
• Or a demonstration on putting the CFA App on their smart phones.
• Or a “gift” like the one I give at Residential Fire Safety presentations.

Publications
BACK TO BASICS
• CFA has a wide range of publications and it’s really easy to swamp our audiences with a mass of paperwork which they will never read.
• Think about the event and your audience and pick a few appropriate publications to meet their needs
• Talk to your CEC about what you would like and provide enough lead time to allow the CEC to order them in.
12
Publications
BACK TO BASICS
• Use the publications and supporting materials to maximise your opportunity to engage with your audience.
• You should aim to have a 5 minute conversation with attendees at a show or event. Here’s some strategies to help you to do this.
