Latest Enhancements to JICS: Next Generation User Interface

JICS portal has powerful features and functionality that were inaccessible to most, locked away behind a very steep learning curve

Most people in charge of managing pages would use the default or need an administrator to make changes

Where we were

A multi-phase project to redesign all aspects of administration in JICS to make them more accessible, intuitive, and user-friendly.

Dubbed internally “NGUI” for Next Generation User Interface The phases:

• Phase 1: The new “Add a page” in 7.5.5, took a 10-step process for adding new functionality and made it work in 2 clicks.

• Phase 2: Overhaul of all aspects of page management in 8.1• Future phases will give similar treatment to context management

and other areas of the portal
