Dear Families and Friends of Prince of Peace Catholic School,
The sun is shining, we are back in school, it is a great day!
There are many days in a year. On each day we may notice the weather or fun activities. We can also anxiously
await a day in the future with a field trip, a weekend day, a sporting event, a vacation… There are days we may
consider not so great; tests need to be taken, we make mistakes, friendships can have problems…
Things such as bad weather, tests, friendship issues, or even huge things like illness are made a little better if we take
the time to realize that a day is a gift from God. It is not our day; it is God’s day given to each of us.
God is with us today, through this Lenten journey, and each day of the year. Thank you God for the gift of today!
Peace Friends,
Jane Shriver
Principal
LENT

KIDS HEART CHALLENGE UPDATE Parents, we are off to a good start and have raised 695.00 already. Congrats to Elsie DeNegri from 1D and Gus
Schaedler in 1B for already raising $250 online. Their families will be invited to the Chiefs movie night on the
football field. Please remind your child they can continue to collect donations for the Kids Heart Challenge. Our
campaign runs through the end of next Friday 3/29. Donations are accepted online (preferable) or send
cash/checks to school. Students will receive instant prizes at school.
Proceeds will go the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. Almost every family has had a
loved one affected by heart disease or stroke. AHA research has revolutionized the way we treat heart attacks,
strokes, and perform CPR, saving many lives. In addition, education is teaching our youth to start NOW to have a
healthy heart and the AHA returns a portion of funds raised to our school for PE equipment.
Thank you for your effort and generosity. Have a heart healthy family.
