PRINCE2® ProfessionalHow to stand out from the Crowd
What is PRINCE2® Professional?• PRINCE2® Professional is a new assessment certification
from APMG delivered through an ATO such as CUPE.• Assessment Centres test your ability to run PRINCE2®
projects rather than just pass an exam.• PRINCE2® Professional certification is a two & a half day
event. • You work with other individuals on a small project.• PRINCE2® Professional moves beyond the boundaries of the
PRINCE2® method and includes project management competencies.
• This Assessment Centre is not a course. No training is provided.
• The assessment process relies heavily on all candidates having a good level of knowledge of structured project management.
What is PRINCE2® Professional?
Who is PRINCE2® Professional for?
• PRINCE2® Practitioners who have passed their Practitioner exam, with some Practical experience
• Practitioners looking for the next step in their professional development.
• Practitioners looking to differentiate themselves from others in a competitive market.
• Organisations looking to assess internal staff competence.
• Individuals looking to demonstrate their PRINCE2® competence.
How can you become a PRINCE2® Professional?
• To achieve the certification you need to pass an assessment that encompasses individual and group work (instead of the multiple choice exam).
• It is based on a case study project and held at a PRINCE2® Assessment Centre (such as the CUPE head office).
How can you become a PRINCE2® Professional?
• During the event you will be put into small teams, given project case studies and asked to demonstrate application of the methodology.
• Assessors will observe candidates working on the case study and grade against 19 performance areas.
• If you receive a rating of 1 or more for each of the performance criteria, as well as an average rating of 1.6 or more across all of the performance criteria, the evaluator can recommend that the accreditation body, APMG, awards you the PRINCE2® Professional certification.
• If you pass the assessment process you will be a PRINCE2® Professional. This is the highest level of PRINCE2® certification, and therefore a valuable asset to your career in project management.
