Organic waste is used effectively.
Today, the majority is sent to dumping sites where it is causing big problems in terms of pollution, spread of dis-eases and other health problems.

Bio fertilizer make use of the local phosphate in East Uganda instead of imported phosphate

Organic waste as husk and compost is used by farmers for mulching up soil. With this practice germs and plant dis-eases, as Coffee Wilt Diseases in coffee, are being spread and harms the vegetation.
High temperature compost-ing is secured against this risk

The waste is transformed into organic fertilizer. Organic fertilizer is more environmental friendly than chemical fertilizer.

Bio-fertilizer will raise yield in farm crop.
The yearly additional yield will be 25-30.000.000 kg coffee the value if bio-fertilizer is used in coffee production.

The total organic waste in Kampala can be transferred to 2,400,000 ton of com-post, which will raise crop value to about USD 30-40.000.000 a year.
However, the impact of using bio-fer-tilizer will be even greater and corre-spond to an additional crop value on USD 100-120,000,000 a year

Bio-fertilizer will raise the quality of crop.
As an example can be mentioned that the quality of coffee production grade “A” will be raised with 4-7%.
The better quality can potentially raise income with USD 1,500,000-3,000,000 a year

Today, many farmers expand pro-duction by taking in new land in-stead of utilizing existing land more effectively.
Normally the new land is rain for-est land. This is not sustainable in the long run.
The usage of bio-fertilizer can help the farmers expand produc-tion without drawing on rain for-est land and hence the rain forest can be protected.

Bio-fertilizer can be used in organic farming.
Organic products can in general secure a higher price on crops and hence pro-vide an incentive for farmers in apply-ing bio-fertilizer.

Compared to compost, bio-fertilizer will secure a higher yield for the farmers. One of the problems with compost today is that it spreads diseases and hence is not optimal for agricultural production.
By using bio-fertilizer the risk of diseases will be significantly lower.
